It sounds odd but I enjoyed it. These were crispy and super tasty! Add in your favorite seasoning and dip em in a spicy garlic aioli sauce. I tried Dad’s Seasonings Tres Padres Sriracha, Chile Dulce, and Sweet BBQ Rub. All three were great but our favorite was Sriracha. I mixed Melinda’s Sweet & Spicy Polynesian hot sauce in Stonewall Kitchen’s Roasted Garlic Aioli.
My answer is yes, I’ll be doing this again.
Ingredients:
1 can of SPAM (25% Less Sodium)
2 cups oil
Seasoning to taste (Dad’s Seasonings Tres Padres Sriracha)
Stonewall Kitchen’s Roasted Garlic Aioli and Melinda’s Sweet & Spicy Polynesian hot sauce (mixed; to taste)
Instructions
Pour oil into a frying pan (a fryer is preferred) over medium heat (350-365 degrees F).
Slice SPAM into thin slices. Mine were a little thick and cooked a bit longer.
I fried about 4-5 slices at a time for about 4-7 minutes depending on how thick and crispy you want the chips. Transfer slices to a plate lined with paper towels to dry and drain.
Toss in a mixing bowl with seasoning.
Plate them and enjoy. Dip the chips in the Roasted Garlic Aioli and Sweet & Spicy Polynesian mix.
